Economic fundamentals are indeed sound and Biko would have lead people to work so that they can realize their potential. The only problem is that people who crafted these fundamental perhaps fail to connect with people, to explain to them that the ball in their court yard.

I am just wondering if Paseka understands where you are coming from. I hope he does but I doubt considering his short sighted conceptualisation of why COPE exists

"SOUTH AFRICA'S THE ECONOMIC FUNDUMENTALS ARE SOUND" -WOULD BIKO ,IF HE WAS STILL ALIVE,BOUGHT INTO THIS LIE?
Part 2
He would mobilise the Blacks to refuse to buy into this lie that thier country's economic fundumentals are sound in a mist of such abject poverty, unemployment rate, high mortality rate.He would warn them not to be silent when the Black Colonial rulers begin to think and act like the apartheid rulers by inroducing measures to curb the press and thier right to know how these predators are running our country down to a Banana Republic.Biko would certainly not been impressed with so-called leaders who go to the Queen of England, our former oppressor,to tell her that the "economic policy that still produces the same outcomes as those of apartheid will never be changed because he would argue, that would mean that the current "Black condition" will remain unchanged!!!.
(Mamphela Ramphela observes that those who were in prison and in exile durint the 7*0's,missed out big time on being exposed to the BCM- judging by thier behaviour,I tend to agree!and maybe, those, like Malema, who were born later and brainwashed into this Charter thing).I would advise the ANCYL,instead of attending the ANC political school, to use this month to learn about BCM and Pan-Africanism as tought by Biko and Sobukwe .... I advise them to read Biko's "I write what I like",Motsoko Pheko's books, especially,"The Land Is Ours",Benjamin Progud's work,"How can a man die better" (Sobukwe's political thoughts) and Oom Harry Mashabela's "People on the Boil"...... The Young Lions are on the right track...they are saking the right questions...thye just seem restricted by this narrow "Freedom Charter" thinking that they have out-lived!!!!

"SOUTH AFRICA'S THE ECONOMIC FUNDUMENTALS ARE SOUND" -WOULD BIKO ,IF HE WAS STILL ALIVE,BOUGHT INTO THIS LIE?
As we approach the 12th September ,the day on which our Hero,Steven Bantu Biko, was brutally slain by the apartheid regime,it is approppriate that we reflect on his teachings, the teachings that really brought about this freedom, freedom which has been turned into a fake by the ANC.Biko, after having thoroughly analysed what he called "the Black condition: at the time, late 6*0's and 7*0's,came to a conclusion that the only way that the Black condition that prevailed at the time could be changed to the better is when the Black man begins to take charge his own situation. After having come to this conclusion,he informed his White counter-parts in NUSAS,the then White dominated student body, and together with the likes of Pityana and Mokoena, formed thier own student body(SASO?).In 197*6,when Tsietsi Mashinini led that revolutionary student march that ultimately led to this freedom,we were immediately bombarded with the Black Consciuosness Movement( BCM) slogans, "Black Man,you are on your own!" and " The tree of liberty shall be watered with the blood of our mytyres'".The starting point of is the BCM was a an analyses of the "Black condition".This was not only about the material conditions of Blacks, but also about their psychological condition.Biko correctly identified that a Black man will never change her material condition until such time that she is in the right psychological state of mind.He identified "fear" as the main stumbling block. The fear of imprisonment and the fear of material gain by the then educated middle cla*ss if you spoke out against the apartheid regime .On the 16 June 197*6 and beyond, having realised how our parents were so much paralised by this fear,we kept them out of our plans to liberate "Azania".
If Biko could come out of his grave today, and do the same analyses that he did in the 7*0's about the "Black condition",that is,;8*7 % of the land still being in White hands,40% unepmloyment rate, pathetic education and health system for Blacks,a quater of the economically active Blacks relying of Social grants, widening gap between the rich and the poor, the majority of whom are Black, who are also landless , squarting all over their place of birth.... Would he believe this story that "South Africa's economic fundamentals are sound'?I think not! I think he would go back to where he was in the 7*0's say to his fellow Black folks : "Wake up! "Black Man,you are on your own!,Your country has been stolen by Black Colonialist rulers whose interests are to fill thier selfish unsatiable appetite for material gains and do not care about your "condition".He would mobilise the Blacks to refuse to buy into this lie that thier country's economic fundumentals are sound in a mist of such abject poverty, unemployment rate, high mortality rate.

I told you that your struggle is my struggle.I concur and agree with you in your posting.
Let I remind you about something, the same 'poor whites' did not colonised, applied aparthied, racism, owner and job reservation in a foreign land as settlers not because they hate black people, find them 'inferior, savagery, uncultured, illiterate' and so on.They did that because the evil seed of imperialism, capitalism, parasitism of material wealth in countries foreign to them was their interests, your so called poor whites.
Your so called poor whites did not invade Iraq, puppetise the Saudi royal family because they like them, they did that for imperialistic purpose. They are now playing and talking the language of Mandela,Nkruma,Lumumba,Kenyatta,Neto,Nyerere in reference to China because it threatened their greed in Africa.Mugabe saw that and is not prepared to go to his grave being their puppet, something we saw Lekota and Shilowa are prepared to do.
White pople remember never voted for Buthelezi, and Shenge himself alluded that he did eveything good for them, but come voting time they deserted him, having used him as a puppet, the same will happen to Shilowa and Lekota. My brother I agree with you and others like Frantz Fanon,Ngugi wa Thiongo,Steve Biko and have little to differ with you.

How many Africans pa*ssed Matric in the last sixteen years? How many African Artisans have we produced in the past sixteen years? How have we faired in terms of Employment creation and unemployment rate? How skilled is our Labour-force in the critical skills area? Why are the SETAS not producing the outcomes they were designed to produce?;3) Entrepreneurship - How far are we with developing the Entrepreneurial skills(not tenderpreneurs) to the Africans?4) Capital - How many African Entrepreneurs have been financially supported and rejected by the Banks? How many African Entrepreneurs have been supported by the Development Bank of SA and by the IDC? How is the PIC and other Institutional Investors supporting true BBB-EE?;5) Natural Resources - How far are we with transforming the resources industry to serve the economic needs and objectives of our country? Is the wealth derived from the exploitation of the nation's mineral resources equitably and inclusively shared?
Once you have answered these questions, then you can proceed to set the targets for the next three to five years to close the identified the gaps, plan how you will source the resources needed to close those gaps, constraints and opportunities, economic growth path to be followed to achieve this, industrial strategy to required for all this etc.etc NOT THESE USELESS TALK SHOPS THAT DELIVER NOTHING!!! YOU HAVE TO ADMIRE THE AFRIKAANERS AND LEARN FROM THEM.RATHER THAN CRY FOUL WHEN YOUR LEADERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO USE POLITICAL POWER… THEY ONLY ARE INTERESTED IN FILLING THEIR OWN AND FAMILIES STOMACHS AND ENGAGE IN BEHAVIOURS SIMILAR TO THOSE OF HYENAS!

Just leave the poor White Guys alone .... they are no longer having any political power...Africans are supposed to have the political power through the ANC to effect the change in the same manner that the NP did when they were in power from 1948 to 1994.When the NP got into power, they knew exactly what political power is about. The first thing they did was to clearly define the outcomes of their policies and strategies, which were to improve the quality of lives of the Afrikaaners at the expense of Africans by giving themselves preferential treatment over all other population groups - zero percent unemployment rate for Afrikaaners through legislated job reservation; own 8*7% of the land by dispossessing the Africans of their land and confining them to the Bantustans; Free and quality basic education and health care to all Afrikaaners; clear strategy on how they will take control of the means of production - that is, land ,labour ,capital ,entrepreneurship development, natural/mineral resources (raw material). You see, they clearly knew what they wanted to achieve and could measure their performance against clear targets. They did not care what the Queen of England thought about their policies nor travel to England to rea*ssure her that “there will be no change in economic and mining policies”or anything like that. They also told the UN to go to hell, even though Jan Smuts was one of the architects of the UN Declaration on Human Rights. Just read through the ANC discussion documents for its up-coming NGC, then you will understand why you should stop blaming the poor White Guys for all our stu.pidity and cowardice. These documents do not suggest any clear outcomes, no clear targets are been set, no timeframes, no prioritisation, no accountabilities as*signed, nothing, just the usual rhetoric we have become used to for the past sixteen years. Instead of going there to as*sess thier progress over the past sixteen years on critical issues which are of concern to their constituencies, they are involved in this nonsense like Media Appeal Tribunal , "Suppression" of Information Bills and factional fights to plunder the nation’s resources - propelled by this "enemy mentality". In trying to answer what they clearly state as an objective of their economic policy, that is "an equitable and inclusive society", they fail to ask the right questions! Any student of strategy will tell you that any good strategy begins with good questions .Basic economic theory tells us that if you want to take control of the economy , you need to take charge of the means of production:1) Land - How far are we with the process of giving back the 8*7% of the land that was forcefully taken by the Afrikaaners from the Africans since 1913? ;2)Labour - How far are we with the employment equity project that started in 1998?How many African graduates in the various disciplines have we produced in the last sixteen years? How many Africans pa*ssed Matric in the last sixte
