About Us
This website has been started after the changing political landscape in South Africa. Aim of this website is not to bad mouth, back-bite, disrespect or fault-find anyone but rather spark a answer seeking debate
We ask you, the citizenry across party lines, to express your views about our politics, their implications and what we can learn from them. Some fundamental questions that confront all South Africans today are:
(a) Should the constitution be amended to provide for the election of the President of the Republic by the electorate and not Parliament with clear and specific circumstances of impeachment in case she/he contravenes the constitution or the law?
(b) Is a governing party morally justified to appoint as President of the Republic, anyone who was not part of its nomination list in a general election? This is neither a pro-anyone (COPE, ANC, DA, etc) nor is it an anti government initiative. It is a citizen initiative aimed at engaging with issues that affect our present and future and those of our children. It is about our democracy! As events unfold, it is increasingly becoming clear that this must be a permanent forum for debate in which South Africans rigorously explore the topical issues of day and their overall implications to our present and future.
This can only be positive for our present and future. For this to happen, we must accept and commit ourselves to the basic principle of rigorous yet measured engagement with one another; understanding that none of us possesses the monopoly of truth or wisdom. We must engage, share and learn from one another; rejecting as we must, conduct which suggests that "If you don't agree with me, therefore you are wrong.
We trust that all of us will do exactly that: engage with the issues without emotion and resorting to name-calling and insults.
Like Mao Tse-Tung we say: ?Let a hundred flowers bloom, let a hundred schools of thought contend.?
